Realtime Rendering - Farm Scene
A downloadable project for Windows
As part of my studies I created a farm-themed "brick"-style animation (see https://vimeo.com/374083916). It took approximately 16 hours to render. I wanted to investigate the emerging technique of using real-time technologies (e.g. game engines) to render my animation. I adapted the animation for use in Unity and performed a high-quality real-time render (see https://vimeo.com/377235012). It took approximately 2 minutes to render, yet closely resembles the original animation which used traditional rendering. This opens up a world of possibility for rapidly iterating on designs.
To demonstrate that this high quality rendering was indeed real-time I created an interactive walk-through of the animation scene. It was used displayed on a large touch-screen at the showcase for my institution.
